Importance of Urinary Tract functions
Our body requires essential nutrients for the functioning of the body organs. We extract these nutrients from the food and water intake. The energy generated from the nutrient is utilized to provide energy for the body functions. They are also responsible for developing immunity against the infectious syndromes.
The food that we eat undergoes chemical reaction that generates energy and waste products. These excess nutrients should be eliminated from the body in form of sweat, urine or bowel. These waste products are eliminated to avoid the development of fatal infections and toxins.
Hence, the urinary tract system is responsible for the elimination of liquid waste in form of urine. The urinary system consists of ureters, urethra, urinary bladder, kidneys etc. The body produces urea during the digestion of proteins in the body. This urea moves through the blood streams and enters the kidneys. The kidneys extract the urea content from the blood streams and convert it into urine.
However, if the kidney doesn’t function properly due to kidney damage or stones, then certain percentage of urea remains in the blood and leads to vomiting, weakness, fatigue etc. The kidneys are also responsible for the production of the red blood cells in the body. It is also responsible for regulating the blood pressure of the body through rennin hormone.
The urine generated inside the kidney enters the urinary bladder through the ureters after every 10 to 15 seconds. Now, as soon as the bladder gets filled to uncomfortable levels, the brain sends a feedback message to the bladder and asks it to loosen the muscles for urinary secretion. Thus, the urine enters the urethra and flows out of the body.
Hence, any kind of damage or abnormality in the urinary tract can lead to severe problems. Hence, you should drink ample water to maintain the functioning of urinary bladder and to keep the urinary system free from infectious syndromes.
